![]() The following is a sample recordig I made using the LICECap screen capture utility:Īlthough GIF animations do not contain any audio, but sometimes its better than the videos as the GIF files tend to be very small in size compared to full fledged movie files. You can stop the recording either by clicking on the Stop button or by pressing the global hotkey. After you have selected the file, it would start the recording of activity inside the LICECap capture window. It would ask you for the target GIF file where the recording is to be saved. Once that is done, click on the Record button. You can drag the window location to the area of the screen or other window that you want to record. You can resize this window by dragging the corners or by manually specifying the screen size in the text box given near the bottom-left corner. When you run LICECap on your PC, it shows up a window which is the target area of your screen that is going to be recorded. It can be used on any Windows version, but it works best in Windows XP and above. The download is a setup installer using which you can install LICECap on your system. You can download the LICECap from the website of Cockos software. You can use LICECap to record many things like a chatting session or computer problem etc. ![]() This GIF file can be viewed using any popular image viewer, can be embedded inside a webpage or shared with friends. The free LICECap application allows you to record screen activities into a GIF animation. If you want to make a tutorial about how to do something in your Windows PC, then it is best to capture the video or animation of that activity.

KISS!įound something on the price, but I'm not sure if it applies to Google-drive, which must have some kind of flat-rate. The first run will just be a mounted folder. After the upgrade I will work on getting FUSE on CentOS and connected to Google-drive. Need to upgrade the KVM on my Virt server first. Haven't found any pricing or info on the bandwidth yet. Think that Google made a nice move here and I would gladly migrate to Google-drive for my backup purposes. I only use it for WP backups and some 40GB MP3's for redundancy on my CentovaCast server. I'm paying $3-4 a month on S3 for something like 70GB right now, and that is only the storage, not the bandwidth. ![]() I think that the $10/1TB is a beast, 1TB is really a substantial amount of backup-space - if not just double it. One way or the other, this is definitely something which can be useful, and as it is I really need to push the DA backups off-site and up to Google's drive, so, I'll make further research to see whats comes up. I'm a little reluctant right now to just throw this into production without further testing. If you have a dev install then your more than welcome to try. I will continue the research to find the most simple and stable solution. ![]() Also build a Pydio server at one point, it's build on a Debian, which also connects to S3 via s3fs without issues, but again, this is S3 and not Google's API.įound an intro on Python-FUSE, which can be used for making a simple File-system: The issues for me right now is stability, security and reliability. It works well, but I don't really know if it will run on CentOS just as nice. I have been running FUSE on Debian for a couple of years. Was also thinking about a Google-Drive DA plugin, and using Grive, but it's a little early for me to see the full picture. In that way multiple servers can use the service. Don't know about how much space I would need for this, or if it just can act like a proxy. To keep FUSE running in another VM and be able to play around and test stuff, trying to make it centralized and running as clean as possible. Was also playing with the idea of making a Linux distribution on KVM, solely for the purpose of syncing with Google-drive. "grive can do two-side synchronization between the Google Drive and local directory". Yes, I'm looking at different solutions right now. ![]() or working cases which utilizes Google drive for backup purposes? Plugins? So my question comes down to FUSE - is it ok or not?Īny thoughts?. It works as it is and have done that for many years, no problem with DA and backup, just need to be able to store the backup outside the center directly from DA to the clouds. It's more important that DA get some kind of incremental solution, or an off-site solution for backup purposes, like to Google-drive or S3 and not only ftp or ssh. They are stored locally on the machine and should eventually be moved outside the hosting center. The only thing which lags, is that the VM needs to be suspended during the backup, but these are actually just disaster recovery-images for a full restore. 1TB would be a nice addition because my 7 days rotation builds up.Īlternatively, I run DA in a KVM and using vzdump to make "bare-metal" snapshots locally. I use FTP right now, locally in the hosting center to a different machine, but I only have 100GB or so. Need to read more about it though, like bandwidth usage, etc.Īnyone here using Google-drive or S3 for the backups? Google-drive-ocamlfuse (FUSE) works in CentOS6.*, just unsure if it's stable or if it's a good idea at all. Goggle just dropped the price on their 1TB Google drive, so it's actually a pretty good deal right now. Other Uses for Dog Slow Feedersĭog slow feeders appeal to other owners, though. And, unlike cats, you’re going to notice them. Odds are, you’re going to hear a “delicate” canine belch or cope with doggie farts. The GI tract doesn’t need air any more than the lungs need food. The smushed faces you see in Bulldogs and Pugs mean they can’t breathe and eat well at the same time. This normally happens in brachycephalic breeds, even if they DON’T eat fast. Wolfing down food at top speed means sucking in air. ![]() And it means YOU get to deal with the mess, either way. This can cause them to eat the vomit (I know, disgusting). It makes them feel better (since the gulping process leaves them nauseous). This causes your dog to vomit the entire meal they just consumed. All of that dumps into the stomach at one time. And without a dog slow feeder, your pup swallows unchewed chunks of food. It’s most common in deep-chested dogs, such as Dachshunds and Great Danes, but it can happen in ANY breed. This causes the valves AND blood vessels to close off. The stomach flips around in the abdominal cavity. GDV results when a pup bolts a meal and then engages in a frantic burst of activity. GDVĭogs that gulp down their food increase their risk for bloat or gastric dilatation and volvulus (GDV). And those safety hazards are the biggest reason to look into dog slow feeders. But there are serious health risks that come with that behavior. Obviously, you don’t want your favorite canine to feel miserable and driven to clean their bowl in record time. Parasites: Intestinal parasites steal nutrition from your pup. This drives them to cram as much food into their bellies as possible. Malnutrition: Dogs that aren’t getting all of the nutrients they need feel like they’re starving.Their brain tells them, “If you don’t eat everything as quick as possible, you’ll starve.” Competition: If they came from a large litter or a living situation where they needed to fight for food, that behavior’s engrained. And whoever doesn’t finish first loses their dinner. Bullying: When you have multiple dogs in a household, one may decide to eat EVERYONE’S food.So why do they race through meals? It could be due to a variety of reasons: They’re not trying to rush away to work, though. Because the stomach doesn’t appreciate getting treated that way.ĭogs aren’t any different. When you rush through eating, you don’t taste much. Or you could work in a field where mealtime consists of five minutes crammed in where you can find them. Speed EatingĪt least once in your life, you’ve probably bolted down a meal. Because they need training in SLOWING DOWN mealtime. Those dogs? They’re the perfect candidate for dog slow feeders. ![]() You hear frantic gulping (maybe a cough as kibble goes down the wrong tube), and you fear they’re going to choke. Those pups dive into their meals as if they’re starving. But on the other hand, you can’t get your fingers away fast enough. On the one hand, you’ll find dogs that settle down to enjoy their food in a leisurely manner. Ruff Land tie downs are designed like the driver retention devices on a race car. When it comes to canine mealtime, there are two different scenarios possible. But only if the tie downs are designed properly. If your kennel is connected to your truck it can take advantage of your truck absorbing impact energy. Then there are the all-important heavy-duty tie-downs which you should always use. Plus, they feature six locking lugs where other kennels have no more than four. Likewise, the composite doors on a Ruff Land kennel are remarkably strong and designed to absorb energy. The raised floor in a Ruff Land also serves to provide both strength and cushion as does the designed-in body crease around the middle of the kennel. They may not break, but when your dog hits the side of the kennel, there is no give like there is with a Ruff Land. This is where the “stiff”, two-walled plastic kennels, which claim to be safer, fail. The walls, top and floor on Ruff Land Kennels also have built-in flexibility which absorbs energy that would otherwise be transferred to your dog. Ruff Land’s one-piece roto-molded construction is extremely strong. ![]() Most kennels are simply not strong enough to protect your dog in an impact situation. Ruff Land kennels feature race car-inspired Ruff-Flex™ Energy Dissipation Technology, a series of design elements that dramatically improve the odds of your dog surviving an accident. The truth is, traditional dog kennels are simply not designed to protect their four-legged passengers. ![]() It’s an unfortunate fact that too many dogs are injured or killed every year in vehicle accidents.
